Smile Global, an initiative of Smile Foundation, is a platform to bring individuals and institutions from across the world with resources and willingness to change the society. Smile Global is a medium to take the knowledge, expertise, experience and principles of good governance of Smile Foundation to South Asia, with specific reference to countries like India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

The first programme under Smile Global is ‘Action For Children’ or AFC. This is a partnership between a Dutch Government promoted consortium and Smile Foundation with two major objectives. AFC, launched in April 2008, encourages involvement of privileged people in development process and ensures sustainability of grassroots initiatives across India.

 

Action for Children [AFC]

A Concept from the Developed Nation for the Developing Worlds

Action for Children (AFC) is based on the concept that ‘Development’ is a people’s issue and not the government’s concern alone. It aims to involve privileged citizens, civil society groups and various institutions including corporate in the development process.

Currently being implemented in three developing economies of the world – Brazil, South Africa and India, AFC is a development programme for children.

Delegates during the Change for Children meet organized by International Child Support (ICS) in November 2008 in Kenya.

Mr. Naresh Chaudhary, Chief Operating Officer, Smile Foundation is elected as the Chairman for the International Committee for Global Movement on Advocacy & Fundraising. The committee will active across 18 countries across the globe.
